Halal is an Arabic word that means permissible or lawful under Islamic law. The opposite of halal is haram, which means prohibited.
Halal refers to things or actions permitted by Allah and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It applies to all aspects of Muslim life including food, clothing, personal care products, entertainment and finance.

My research interest is primarily centered around risky behaviors of African-American young adults. Specifically, I’m interested in understanding how sociocultural factors influence sexual behaviors and patterns.
